Originally Set up as Hospital Sunday all the local clubs would keep the first Sunday in Jully free to have a money spinning event to boost the coffers of local Hospitals.

The day now is set up as the Presidents Charity day and local clubs are invited to part take in events to rasie money for each years Presidential Charity, this year Barrie Purdy has chosen the Michael Sobell House.

Support over the years has sadly and very dissapointingly dropped and this year changes were made to increase take up on what is a very good day. This year 30 mixed triples entered and played at 4 venues. Our thanks go to Pinner, Eastcote, Century and Lupton Bowls Clubs for their help on the day.

As has been traditional those clubs who enter 4 triples are automically entered into the Charity Day Cup for the bes aggregate score, this year that honour was "won" by Century with an aggregate of Plus 8, Lupton ae runners up with -3, Pinner next with -6 and finally Eastcote with -26.

Also taking part and by no means less importat for having fewer teams were West Harrow, Northwood, Ladygate, Stanmore, Woodcock Park, Mill and Harrow Weald.

To date over £250 has been raised on the day, a fantastic effort for which President Barrie sends his thanks.

Thanks also should go to Bryn Grewcock for organising the day.

Next season the event will be held on Sunday July 1st, President elect Mike Waterford looks forward to welcoming all that partak in the day, PLEASE ENCOURAGE YOUR CLUBS MATCH SECRETARY TO TRY AND KEEP THIS DATE FREE.
